We went straight up to the Flat when we arrived in London after Birmingham. Well, when I say straight up I decided to get our passports from Terence’s house so that we could book our train ticket to Lille. In order to save time I called a Taxi. When I told him the address he commented .”just around the corner up there?’ I told him not to judge Its been a long day and I’m in a hurry. Then I realized that Pat had the keys to the house and he was at the station and Terry hadn’t answered the phone so I had to tell the taxi to go back to the station and he said it IS a bad day for you. I told him there are good days and bad days. He liked that. Then found out Terence WAS in so the taxi had to turn around again. Think it might have been starting as an irritating day for him.
Fortunately the Flat looks good and I met up with nieghbours. There are four in the flat and it’s really only a small two bedroom flat. I remembered the happy days I had sharing with with four others in a two bedroom flat. I had the living room and meant only to stay for a month or two. So I guess they will be ok.
The area is actually improving so am happy about that.
The following day we wandered round the National portrait gallery. I love that all these are still free. It was amazing to watch David Beckham sleeping. Strange feeling .

We took the boat to Greenwich Yacht Club where I met up with friends and shared many fond memories along with up to date gossip. It’s a great club. Where I learned to sail.

Next trip Hampton Court. I’ve always been fascinated by the tudors and felt so sorry for Katherine Howard being married to Henry an obese old man with a foul smelling wound on his leg. How can she have been so careless to send a love letter to Thomas. But then I remembered how I was at 21

Many of the rooms were beautiful. One demonstrated how they folded the napkins in fancy shapes. It reminded me of a dinner party where one girl showed us a remarkable talent of folding an x rated napkin. I never learned!

The gardens were also beautiful. While we were waiting for the train a tourist got the police to pose for a photo and the mother suddenly pulled the child out of the pram and thrust her into his arms. It was a really sweet moment everyone was laughing.

Home in time for Dinner with Terence. As always, great Craic.

Glad the flats ok looks like u r having a good time . Thx for sending
